Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer
The Town of Mead, Colorado is accepting applications for the position of Code Enforcement/Animal Control Officer. The individual performs a variety of routine and complex work in the interpretation and enforcement of adopted codes and related rules and regulations. The individual is also responsible for animal control duties including licensing, capturing, quarantining, and disposition for animals within the Town of Mead. The individual will be expected to work with animal shelters, the Public Works Department and the Weld County Sheriff’s office. Currently, this position is funded for 32 hours per week. The starting wage is anticipated to be $13 per hour. The position receives all standard benefits available to Town employees.
It is essential that the individual have the ability to work independently. Two years experience related to inspection, law enforcement, nuisance abatement, animal control or a related field is desired. Colorado Association of Code Enforcement Officers (CACEO) certification will be required within 6 months of hire. Successful completion of the Weld County Animal Control Academy is also required.

This is a full-time nonexempt position.
The starting wage is anticipated to be $20 per hour. The position receives all standard benefits available to Town employees. It is essential that the individual have the ability to work independently. Six (6) years of experience relating to the construction, repair and maintenance of sewer, street, parks, or storm drainage systems including the operation of related maintenance equipment. Individual must be able to obtain a State of Colorado CDL license.

The starting wage is anticipated to be $15.50 per hour. The position receives all standard benefits available to Town employees. It is essential that the individual have the ability to work independently. Position requires four (4) years of experience relating to the construction, repair and maintenance of sewer, street, parks, or storm drainage systems including the operation of related maintenance equipment, a valid Colorado Driver's license and CDL certification, or ability to obtain one is required. A chemical license is required within one (1) year of appointment.
