The Town of Mead Municipal Court has jurisdiction of certain offenses committed within the town limits including:

● Traffic infractions

● Misdemeanor traffic offenses

● Criminal offenses

● Parking violations

● Animal violations

● All violations of Town ordinances related to zoning, building, codes, and more

Payment of Fines

Due Date & Payment Options

Fines are due in full on the day of sentencing. Types of payment accepted include cash, check, money order or cashier's check. You must speak with the Judge for payment options, if you cannot pay in full.    

Some traffic citations may be paid by mail. The indicated fine must be received on or before the due date. Please call 970.535.2643 to verify your citation can be paid without a court appearance. When mailing, please enclose the yellow copy of the citation and payment in an envelope and mail to:

Collections

Fines not paid according the the payment schedule may be referred to collections. In addition, a hold may be placed against the renewal of your driver's license and/or a warrant issued for your arrest.  

Discovery Request

Mead's discovery requests follow Colorado Municipal Rules of Procedure, Rule 216. Upon motion of the defendant, the court may order the prosecution to permit the defendant to inspect and copy or photograph any books, papers, documents, photographs, or tangible objects that are within the prosecutor's possession and control. In order to do this, the defendant must show that the items sought may be material to defense preparation and that the request is reasonable.

A written request for discovery must be filed with the court. Discoverable material will be provided within a reasonable time period.  
 

Court Ordered Classes

Defendants ordered to complete classes through ISAE, NCTI/CIMA or Alive at 25 may register for class at:

Alive at 25

Classes must be completed in a timely manner and Certificate of Completion turned in to the Court Clerk either by email or dropped off at Mead Town Hall.

Proof of Insurance

If you were charged with No Proof of Insurance, but did have insurance in effect at the time, please email proof of insurance to the Court Clerk.
