March 25, 2020 -- In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the town, the Town of Mead declared a local disaster emergency at its special meeting of the Board of Trustees on March 21, 2020. Additionally, the Mead Board of Trustees adopted supplementary rules and procedures for emergency meetings.

Furthermore, the adoption of the emergency meeting procedures allows for meetings to be held either at a different location or virtually via telephone, electronically, or a similar means of communication. “The Board of Trustees and other town committees and commissions can meet virtually, when certain conditions are met, when in-person meetings are not practical,” said Mayor Colleen Whitlow. “Given the continued spread of COVID-19 and the recommendations from the State of Colorado and the Weld County Public Health and Environment, virtual meetings are necessary to protect our trustees, staff and residents. The health of our community members remains our top priority.”

The Board of Trustees will hold its first virtual meeting on Monday, March 30 at 6 p.m. Residents are encouraged to join the meeting using the online meeting service Zoom; residents can choose to either call in to the meeting or join by video. Virtual meetings will allow for residents to participate in public comment. More information about attending the meeting virtually will be made available at townofmead.org.

The Town continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary, including the status of future public meetings, programs and events.
