The Town of Mead is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to replace the steel corrugated deck on the WCR 38 bridge over the Mead Lateral Canal (CDOT Structure No. WEL038.0-009.0A). This work consists of removing the existing steel corrugated deck and installing a new steel corrugated deck while protecting the bridge railings in place. The deck will be affixed to the girders with steel deck clips. Construction of the new deck also includes welding of adjacent deck panel seams, installation of abutment end dams, installation of side dams, installation of a bituminous base course in the deck pans, and installation of a gravel riding surface on top of the bituminous, graded to a create a smooth transition with the existing approach roadways. Falsework will be placed between girder bottom flanges before construction to prevent debris from falling into the channel. As required, bridge railings will be repaired based on their condition during construction.
Bids must be received electronically in the E-Purchasing System no later than February 14, 2024, at or before 2:00 p.m. MST. The Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System will time-stamp bids upon receipt.
