LETTER TO THE COMMUNITY:
As we reflect on the past year and look ahead to what’s next, we’re pleased to share the 2025–2026 Mead Community Report. This annual snapshot highlights where we’ve been, what we’ve accomplished together, and how we’re planning for Mead’s future. Throughout it all, your Board of Trustees remains committed to listening, learning, and leading in ways that reflect the values and priorities of our residents.
The year 2025 marked a meaningful period of progress for our community. We celebrated the grand opening of the Mead Community Center and honored the sacrifices of military families with the dedication of the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument. At the same time, several behind-the-scenes improvements strengthened Town operations, including the launch of police e-ticketing, the implementation of new agenda management software, and the Board portal. Infrastructure investments also moved forward with the installation of Mead’s first express EV charger, the completion of a new Main Street parking lot, and paving and lighting upgrades at the Town Hall parking lot. In addition, Mead was awarded a $1.36 million grant for the Highway 66 and County Road 7 pedestrian underpass, and initial design work began on a future police station.
Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, our focus remains on thoughtful, long-term planning that will guide Mead’s continued growth. Completion of the 3rd Street and Welker Avenue intersection will enhance safety and traffic flow in a key area of town. The High Plains Boulevard expansion will deliver critical infrastructure to support responsible development, and we are advancing construction plans for the Highway 66 and County Road 7 pedestrian crossing, prioritizing safety while continuing to pursue funding to bring this important project to fruition. Additionally, Mead will welcome its first two roundabouts in 2026, further enhancing traffic efficiency and safety.
Across every initiative, we are guided by the same core priorities: responsible growth, reliable infrastructure, public safety, fiscal stability, and fostering a connected community that serves and includes everyone.
