After more than a year of planning, community engagement, and thousands of comments, survey responses, and feedback submissions, the Town of Mead is excited to present the Final Draft Plan of the Mead in Motion Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Trails (PROST) Master Plan Update.
Mead in Motion is a long-range vision and implementation plan that will guide the planning, development, maintenance, and enhancement of Mead's parks, recreation programs, open spaces, and trail system for the next 10+ years. The plan reflects extensive community input gathered through public meetings, surveys, stakeholder discussions, online engagement, and interactive mapping tools, ensuring the final recommendations align with the priorities and needs of Mead residents.
Parks, recreation, open spaces, and trails play a critical role in supporting quality of life, preserving community character, promoting health and wellness, and fostering economic vitality. As Mead continues to grow, the Mead in Motion plan provides a roadmap for strategically investing in amenities, expanding recreational opportunities, preserving open space, improving connectivity, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Town's parks and recreation system.
The Final Draft Plan represents the culmination of the community engagement process and outlines recommended projects, priorities, and strategies for the future of Mead's parks, recreation, open space, and trail network. The plan will be presented to the Planning Commission and Board of Trustees for consideration and adoption.
