The Town Clerk’s office maintains records for the Town of Mead. Most public records are available through our online repository for no fee. The Public Records Portal features thousands of documents, including agendas, minutes, contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and historical documents.

Requesting a Public Record
The Town Clerk is the official custodian of all public records, except criminal justice records, and will process all requests for public records. A Public Records Request form (below) must be filed with the Town Clerk to initiate a request for public records. This policy applies to public records of the Town and the Mead Urban Renewal Authority. **For police reports or any police department records, please contact the Mead Police Department.
Procedures
The Town Clerk will notify the applicant of the completion of the public records request process, the availability of the public records, and the cost of service, including copying charges for any requested copies and research or other fees. Records subject to nondisclosure by law or under the act will be withheld from inspection as provided by the Act. The Town has three working days to process requests and, in extenuating circumstances, up to seven working days to respond to open records requests.
Fees
The Town’s research and retrieval fee is $41.37 per hour after the first hour of work. Fees are associated with copies or requests requiring significant staff resources. If the Town Clerk reasonably believes that fulfillment of any request may result in more than one hour of staff time to research, retrieve, segregate, or prepare the records, the Town Clerk may require a monetary deposit before commencing work. If the estimated cost of complying with the open records request is $50.00 or more, the applicant may be required to pay a deposit.
