Fishing is Fun fishing clinic is back at Lorin Mead Park at Highland Lake! The free fishing clinic is scheduled for 8 a.m. on June 1, plus the first 75 kiddos who participate in the 3-session clinic will receive a free fishing pole!

Colorado Parks and Wildlife invites resident and nonresident anglers of all ages to participate in its annual Free Fishing Weekend from June 1 to 2. The free fishing weekend is a great way to get outside with family and friends and take advantage of Colorado's extensive opportunities to fish for a myriad of cold and warm water fish species​​. Although a license is not required on Free Fishing Weekend, all other rules and regulations will apply. Anglers should consult the ​Colorado Fishing Brochure​​​​​ for specific regulations and restrictions. Colorado law requires that anyone over 16 must have a valid fishing license to fish on all other days of the year.

Schedule:

Fishing Clinic: Sessions will run every 30 minutes from 8 a.m.-10 a.m.

Event Fishing: 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

Food Vendor & Beverages: 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

 

**Parking is available at Highland Lake and Historic Highland Lake Church** Please do not park on the shoulder of the road or in private driveways.

If severe weather strikes, event cancelation will be posted on social media before 8 a.m.
