Cameras

The Mead PD uses Flock cameras to help detect and deter crime. If your HOA or business would like to add camera systems in your neighborhood, please contact our Flock Safety Community Webpage for more information.

Our Flock Safety Community Webpage provides information on how to share your camera footage to help reduce crime in your neighborhood. You can share videos with the police, which could help solve crimes. Businesses can also share live-stream video with police to assist in responding to active incidents at their business.

Event Participation

If you would like to request an officer to attend an HOA meeting or other event, please contact us at police [at] townofmead.org (police[at]townofmead[dot]org) or 970-805-4184.

Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch is a program that requires community members to participate and organize. For more information, please review how to start a neighborhood watch program at https://staysafe.org/starting-and-growing-a-neighborhood-watch. This website also provides other safety tips for you and your family.

Police Ride Along

If you would like to experience the job of a Mead Police Officer, please complete the Ride Along Form and return it to the police department. As scheduling allows, you will be contacted for a time to ride with an officer.

VIN Verifications

Mead PD will complete a VIN verification at no charge to residents. Please call Dispatch at 720-652-4222 to request that an officer complete a verification.

What’s the difference between a VIN verification and a certified VIN inspection?

  • A certified VIN inspection is performed on vehicles with titling issues. Common reasons for certified VIN inspections include salvage vehicles, vehicles purchased without a title, lost titles or titles signed incorrectly, vehicles or trailers that are missing VINs, or you are trying to title an off-road dirt bike that you’ve made street legal.
  • VIN Verifications are for vehicles without those issues. You own a vehicle (and there are no issues with the title) that has been registered to you or purchased in another state, and you are simply trying to switch the registration and title to Colorado.
Going on vacation? Request a home check!

The Mead Police Department is pleased to offer residents a complimentary Vacation Home Check service. While you are away on vacation, our officers will conduct periodic checks of the exterior of your home and property. These security inspections will be documented, and upon your return, you will receive a report at no cost.

If any unusual or noteworthy activity is observed, our officers will investigate and may contact you or your designated representative. Please note that this service is dependent on officer availability and is not guaranteed.

To take advantage of this service, simply complete the Vacation Home Check form and submit it to the Police Department. Enjoy peace of mind knowing the Mead Police Department is monitoring your home while you are away.
