Yes, pet licenses are required for cats and dogs. See the pet licensing section for further details.
Contact Code Enforcement Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at 720.597.5210. After hours, you may also call non-emergency dispatch number at 720-652-4222. Please provide the location and description of the dog. Use caution, and approach these animals only when it is absolutely necessary. Many dogs at large can be scared or nervous and can demonstrate various signs of duress.
In most cases, the dog will be held for a few hours while the Code Enforcement Official attempts to contact the owner of the animal. If an owner cannot be reached or is not identified, the Town of Mead contracts with the Longmont Humane Society for the care and safekeeping of these animals.
These items are all covered by the Municipal Code and concerns with them can be reported to the Code Enforcement Official.
Yes, but location, time, and material of the yard sign are outlined in our code. For example, a typical plastic yard sign cannot be placed in the right of way and can only be up for 60 days. Otherwise, this is a code violation. For sign specifications, review our Sign Code

Yes, but a temporary use permit is required for all mobile food trucks operating in Mead, including confirmation of insurance and health department certification. Please contact the Deputy Clerk for more information. Anyone operating a mobile food truck without a temporary permit is in violation of town code.
No, a permit is not required to have a yard sale. A resident may have a maximum of six (6) yard sales per calendar year. Each yard sale event is allowed to run a maximum of four (4) consecutive days and each event may not occur within thirty (30) days of a prior yard sale event.
Yes, chickens are allowed through a special use permit. The permit for the keeping of backyard chicken hens may be issued without requiring a public hearing and subject to the criteria outlined in Sec. 7-6-45. No more than four (4) chicken hens are permitted per parcel and roosters are prohibited.
