Weld County Food Assistance & Senior Meal Programs

The Mead Police Department would like to share this critical information about food assistance programs and senior meal services available throughout Weld County. Whether you are a senior seeking nutritious meals, a homebound resident in need of delivery, or someone in need of a local pantry, these resources are here to help.

Friendly Fork – Senior Lunch Program

The Senior Lunch Program, also known as the Friendly Fork, serves healthy and tasty lunches to older adults at 22 locations across Weld County. Many meal sites offer activities before or after lunch to connect with others and enjoy social time.

• Cost: No one is denied a meal if they are unable to contribute. A suggested donation is requested to help support the program and is posted at all locations. Each meal provides about one-third of daily nutrient needs.

• Eligibility:

  • Anyone 60 years or older

  • Spouses of someone 60 or older

  • People under 60 who live in low-income housing that serves as a meal site

  • Guests are welcome for a fee

Participants can contribute toward their meal, but services are not denied if they are unable to donate. Friendly Fork meal tickets are available for use at any location.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County delivers hot, nutritious meals prepared by a registered dietitian. Delivery is available Monday through Friday, 10:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m., with frozen meals available on weekends. Volunteers provide friendly visits and safety checks.

• Eligibility:

  • Age 60+ or under 60 with a disability

  • Homebound or needing help leaving home

  • Unable to prepare meals due to disability or recent hospital stay

  • Reside within the service area

• Cost: Suggested donation based on monthly income

Community Food Pantries

Mobile Food Pantries

Weld Food Bank delivers fresh produce, dairy, meat, bakery, and dry goods directly to sites in food deserts. No documentation required beyond basic contact information.

Senior Feeding Program

The Senior Feeding Program serves seniors 60 and older with USDA Everyday Eats monthly food packages, which include milk, fruit, vegetables, juice, cereal, and additional perishable items.

• Income Guidelines (Effective Feb 13, 2025):

  • 1 person: $1,957 / month

  • 2 people: $2,644 / month

  • 3 people: $3,332 / month

  • 4 people: $4,019 / month

  • 5 people: $4,707 / month

  • 6 people: $5,394 / month

  • 7 people: $5,982 / month

  • 8 people: $6,670 / month

  • Add $688 per additional family member
