Mead is a thriving community of over 5,500 residents and 200 businesses in an area of approximately 13 square miles. The Town is intersected by I-25 and SH 66, where we patrol 14 miles of highway and 81 miles of municipal roadways. Our staff is given the opportunity to be proactive and pursue a variety of interests in law enforcement, while working closely with our citizens and businesses to prevent crime.

We offer monthly in-service training totaling around 120 hours annually. Our staff are encouraged to seek and attend outside training that will help them continue to develop and hone skills related to the profession.

We collaborate with the following agencies and organizations:

  • Longmont Police Department – SWAT Team
  • Frederick, Firestone, Dacono Police Departments – CRASH Team (Accident Investigations), Victim Services, Co-Responder Program
  • Weld County – Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT)
  • First Responder Trauma Services – Behavioral Health Resources for staff and spouses
  • Revital – Behavioral Health Resources and activities for employees and families
  • Shield 616 – Protective equipment
  • Regional Agencies – Vehicle Theft Groups; Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC)
  • Flock / Nola – Community cameras
