Surveillance Video Share

The Mead Police Department is dedicated to working in partnership with the community to enhance the quality of life for residents, businesses and visitors while also promoting safety.

The Neighbors app by Ring enables you to monitor neighborhood activity, share crime and safety related videos and photos, and receive real-time safety alerts from your neighbors and Mead Police. The app is being called the “new Neighborhood Watch,’’ and is used in communities across the nation. The app allows residents the ability to assist the department during investigations by providing video that could be crucial in helping solve crimes. The app is free and was designed to help communities connect and stay informed about what's going on around them-whether they own a RING device or not.

The police department never has direct access to any video. The video content must be posted by a user publicly. Also, when users provide video, the content is provided anonymously with no identifiers or location. The Mead Police Department does not take police reports through this system and still want the community to call our non-emergency number 720.652.4222 or 911 in case of an emergency.

How It Works
  • Download the Neighbors app
  • Opt-in to join your neighborhood.
  • Customize the geographic area you want to receive notifications for (users must verify where they are located and can only participate in their neighborhood).
  • Receive real-time alerts from your neighbors, MPD, and the Ring Neighbors team that inform of crime and safety alerts as they happen.
  • View local crime and safety posts via a live feed or interactive map.
  • Share text updates, photos and videos taken on any device, including Ring’s home security devices.
