Records

The Records Division is responsible for the retention of police records and the release of information to the public, courts, other law enforcement agencies, and insurance companies. This Division is also responsible for local, state, and federal reporting requirements.

The Police Department releases copies of criminal justice records according to state statutes and federal regulations. All requests for inspection or release of criminal justice records require completing a records request form (PDF). If you need video, audio or photos, please complete the Video, Audio, Photo Request Form. We accept cash, checks, or credit cards and can take phone payments. Fees are noted on our Fee Schedule.

Please follow the link above if you need a copy of your accident report. In some cases, there will be additional reports and evidence which need to be requested via a Records Request Form. Otherwise, retrieving your accident report for insurance purposes is best using CRASHDOCS. Generally, the report will take 7-10 business days to be available.

Requests to release reports and official records are completed by our Records Technician and can be contacted at 970.805.4194.
