Agfinity Mead Location Groundbreaking
May 25, 2022--Agfinity broke ground to mark the start of their new Mead Convenience Store construction project Wednesday, May 25, 2022. The location will include retail space, a Cenex® branded fuel station, and select cooperative services and products.
Leading the groundbreaking were Retail Division Director, Robert Garza and Mead Mayor, Colleen Whitlow.
Robert Garza shared, "Today marks an additional investment by Agfinity in the communities of Mead and surrounding areas, just as we have done in other communities in Colorado. Our investments in retail in Eaton, Greeley, and Brighton, all share one common purpose; to support and grow our members' investment. We expect this site to continue our support of our members, customers, and the agricultural community for many years to come, through great service, valuable products, and an overwhelming effort to provide communities with a connection to agriculture through our retail division. I am motivated by the hard work of all who have been part of this project and am truly excited to continue to grow our retail division in support of our members who help farmers feed the world!"
Also in attendance were Agfinity team members, Agfinity Board Members, i2 Consultants, TB Group, Beacon Construction, and the Town of Mead. This intimate event speaks to the cooperative's continual efforts to improve and serve its local members and customers. The new retail location will be built on the existing Agfinity property in the heart of downtown Mead and will provide a great new venue for the Mead population as well as many others within the region’s farming communities.
"To me, this project is more than a C-Store and fuel pumps; it's an important part of the greater effort to connect our community and a major step in stimulating next level economic development in Mead," explained Mead Mayor Colleen Whitlow.
Through collaborative efforts with the Town of Mead and Agfinity business partners, the convenience store is on track to be operational Spring of 2023.
