WCR 5 & HWY 66-SHOULDER WORK

March 13, 2024--On Friday, March 15, 2024, road work will resume on the new acceleration/deceleration lane at the intersection of CR 5 and Hwy 66. The new lane is located just off Hwy 66 on CR 5 and is part of the Gopher Gulch project. Traffic control will be in place, with alternating shoulder and lane closures. Motorists should avoid the area if possible. All road work is weather-dependent and should be completed by the end of March. Link to Traffic Control Plans.

CDOT: HWY 66 INTERSECTION PROJECT

UPDATE: February 27, 2024--On March 4 - 7, CDOT will begin replacing the mast arms on the new signal poles at Hwy 66 & CR 7. To accomplish this, flaggers will hold traffic in all directions while each mast arm is placed. Traffic will be held in five-minute intervals for the placement of each arm. Motorists should plan for delays.

The Colorado Department of Transportation will begin an intersection improvement project on Hwy 66 in Mead. The work will take place at two different intersections. The first intersection is Hwy 66 and WCR 7, and the second is Hwy 66 and WCR 13 (Colorado Blvd). The traffic signal systems will be replaced at both intersections. Work will also consist of only an asphalt overlay at the WCR 7 intersection. Motorists should plan for potential delays due to shoulder and turn lane closures. For project updates and more information, visit CDOT.
