April 14, 2023 – On April 13, at approximately 7 p.m., the Mead Police were alerted to a suspicious person around Highway 66 and I-25. Officer Synn responded and made contact with a person in a vehicle. During this initial contact, Officer Synn observed illegal narcotics and paraphernalia inside the vehicle. He also found the suspect had an active arrest warrant out of Weld County for multiple theft charges. Upon arrest, officers discovered a total of 21.34 grams of Fentanyl (roughly 200 pills) and 3.05 grams of Methamphetamine inside the suspects’ vehicle.

Additional information concerning this arrest, was relayed to the Longmont Police Department. Longmont Police followed up on this information, which resulted in another arrest and the seizure of approximately 300 Fentanyl pills, a quarter pound of Methamphetamine, and a large sum of currency.

The Mead Police Department is very appreciative of the close working relationship with area law enforcement agencies. With the current fentanyl situation threatening our communities, it pays for everyone to be alert of suspicious activity and to promptly report it.
