Officers from Weld County Sheriff’s Department, Colorado State Patrol, and Mead Police immediately responded to the scene and determined the accident occurred in Town of Mead jurisdiction.

A preliminary investigation concluded that a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle passed westbound into the eastbound lanes of Highway 66 at Nesting Crane Lane. Officers from the Weld County Sheriff’s Office remained on location to assist with scene safety and management. Colorado State Patrol aided Mead Police Department with the crash investigation and a pending crash reconstruction. The Weld County Coroner’s Office also responded and assumed custody of the deceased. The Coroner Investigator and Colorado State Patrol Victims Advocate helped in notifying the family and is responsible for releasing the name of the deceased.
